Jaguar XF stages of tuning and performance upgrades
There are 3 main common stages to tuning the Jaguar XF supercharged engines.
Stage 1 Tuning
Stage 1 tuning for the XF usually starts with a remap. If done correctly this will deliver great strong power and performance across the rev range. Adding around 55bhp to the 5.0ltr V8 and 38bhp to the 380bhp V6 version. XF tuning and remapping is carried out through the OBD port. Its quick and easy, non-invasive. And can be reversed any time. Most good tuner, such as VIEZU, will also offer to reset to stock and time, or retune any time should you need. As well as offering 30 day trial, and tuning software insurance.

Stage 2 Tuning
Stage 2 tuning would typically be to add a smaller upper supercharger pulley. Why do you change the supercharger pulley. Much like the gears of a push bike, by making the pulley smaller, the super charger tunes faster for the same amount of engine revolutions. Hence creating more boost pressure and more performance.
Whilst the supercharger pulley can be changed on its own, for best effect. The supercharger pulley changed should always be combined with an ECU remap. This will very significantly boost power, performance and torque combined.
It is also advisable to change the air filter for a performance filter at the same time, To ensure there is no restriction in the amount of air the supercharger can pull in.

Stage 3 Tuning
stage 3 would be to change the lower super charger pulley too. And at the same time add an upgraded supercharger cooler. Is this safe? The Eaton supercharger is rated to 18,000 rpm, with both the upper and lower supercharger pulleys changed, the charger rpm reached 17,400 at 6500 engine rpm. And in these cars that’s around 210 mile per hour. In short, you are never going to outperform or stress your supercharger.
But you do need to keep it cool. Hence on stage 3 tuning, we do recommend the upgraded supercharger cooler from Paramount Performance. This will ensure you don’t suffer from heat-soak in your metal supercharger and start losing power.
This combined set of mods will get you to around 500bhp on the V6 engine and 650bhp on the V8 version. Serous power and performance, that will worry any supercar at the traffic lights. All while still looking like a sleep agent.

Other Jaguar XF tuning options?
When looking for more power and performance from your Jaguar XF you may also want to consider a full cat back performance exhaust system. De-cat pipes, or 200 cell performance cats and an air induction system. These additions will only serve to bring you more torque, more power and let more of your V8 rumble and growl out. Sounding fantastic and giving more driving thrills.
The Jaguar XF is quite a large car and whilst ultimately luxurious the XF can feel little soft on the road.
