Cold Start Delete Tuning and Remapping
The cold start function on a car is designed to help warm the catalytic convertors quicker form starting the engine from a cold temperature. Typically lasting only a few moments on first start up.
The cold start function uses the secondary air injection system to help burn off unburnt fuel because of the cold starting conditions, fuel condensation on cold elements in the engine and the excess fuel injected during the cold starting operation.
On a normal car this is not too much of an issue, helping the cats to warm up ready for you to drive the car.
For the owners of modified cars with uprated exhausts, performance cats and cat removal / test pipes, the cold start can be extremely loud. In built up areas, enclosed spaces, or underground carparks this can sound epic the first time it does it. But starting every morning can quite quickly annoy your neighbours.
